Beautiful Daily Devotional

This is a great app and allows you to take your favorite devotional with you on the go, wherever you are. Works well and had all of the niceties of the print edition, just in electronic form. The prayer alerts are a nice and useful caveat!

Very buggy

Have never been able to get it to work.

Trouble with app and web page

Working well until update. Cannot login. Cant access website

Best daily prayers out there

Highly devotional, intelligent. Traditional and beautiful. Daily psalms, readings, meditations from the worlds greatest spiritual leaders.

Magnificat

I had this app but had so much trouble downloading it and crashing, I no longer use it

Great Material, Poorly Implemented

Update: 12/21/15: I checked into the Magnificat once again, but still refuse to buy it due to the one unforgivable quirk. The reading menu is fixed in portrait mode. Consequently, you continuously have to grab your iPad and rotate it back and forth from menu to the readings. This is so irksome and unforgivable for an app in this day and age. I am shocked that no one else has complained about this very same thing. If it wasnt for the Meditations, I would have no reason to even consider this app. There are others that offer the readings with much more professional reading capabilities and user interfaces such as, The World Among Us. I read the Magnificat everyday. Unfortunately this app is frustrating to use. The reading orientation doesnt stay from the wide to horizontal view when you change back and forth from the readings to the main screen when you rotate your ipad. Its slow, buggy and the pop up Ads for Lenten edition is annoying and make it almost impossible to the Feb edition. Honestly, the Magnificat deserves a much better programming implementation. Please fix!

Best daily devotional app

If one is familiar with the printed version of the Magnificat, they will find the app is more functional with a simple interface. Need larger print, flip the phone horizontally. Want to pray from a page with out the back button, tap the center of the screen, do the same to bring that back button and links along the bottom back. The app makes it easier to flip back to other parts with direct links, e.g. morning prayer directs one to pray the canticle of Zechariah; tap the link, pray, then tap the center of the screen and the back button will reappear. I suspect some of the poor reviews relate to misunderstanding of how the app works. There is a tutorial under the settings which explains even more than I covered here. If you have had Magnificat in the past, I would encourage you to give it another try. The best part, their customer service will guide one through any issues that may arise. B

Short of features

It is good for daily reading and mass. But it has many fatal glitches. 1. It does NOT recognize any HotSpot WiFi devices such as FreedomPop and warns you of not connected to the Internet so it cannot download (?) 2. For major feasts such as Christmas, Easter, especially Vigil ones (long text) it cannot be magnify nor stay for more than 15 SECONDS, it will completely quits and closes and exits to the main Apple screen. Never fails. This is the SECOND year in a row. In 2015 I reported it and expected a fix, this year is the same. Very disappointed.

Can never get it to work

A great magazine and a great prayer book. But the app is awful: it worked well a couple years ago but now its terrible. It crashes, it freezes ... Recommendation: Stick to the print version ... :(
